Acetic acid water

Acetic acid water is commonly used as a solvent for dissolving and mixing peptides due to its ability to maintain peptide stability and solubility. A dilute aqueous solution of acetic acid, often around 0.1–1%, helps to prevent peptide aggregation by providing a slightly acidic environment, which can improve solubility for peptides with basic residues or hydrophobic sequences. This solution is then used to prepare peptide stock solutions or to facilitate proper mixing and handling in analytical or preparative procedures such as HPLC or lyophilisation.
